Pond plants are a great way to add even more beauty to your backyard. The list of aquatic plants species is long, but we here at Paradise Ponds by Ed Dedicke think you should consider some of the following:
Yellow Marsh Marginal
These single yellow flowers and deep green leaves with scalloped edges are one of the first plants to bloom in spring — and they’ll continue to bloom throughout the summer. They’re ideal for cool, shady locations and will grow about 1-2 inches high.
Creeping Jenny is often used as ground cover in terrestrial gardens — a garden on dry land. However, this plant species will also thrive in an aquatic setting. Creeping Jenny grows approximately 2 inches high and acts as a beautiful filler plant. It provides great contrast against gray stones. As an added bonus, pretty yellow flowers bloom on the plant during the summer months.
Love birds? This delightful flower will have them flocking — especially hummingbirds. With red bell like flowers, this plant can grow as high as 3 feet.
Its name may sound silly, but water lettuce creates a charming aesthetic in your pond. The lime-green plant looks like a floating head of lettuce. They provide shade for your fish, are simple to grow, and reproduce during the summer.
